Let me tell you about the first day I arrived here. Of course, you know the beginning of this story since you were with me as I was preparing for my move. I’m so honored my children were there to see me off! Things happened so quickly once I got moving that what you remember clearly, for me was just a series of rapid lights.

I dozed off as soon as I left the ground so the trip itself was nothing like I had imagined. Since I’ve been here I’ve heard so many different stories of other’s travel expierences; lights, tunnels, smells and sounds...I’m excited to one day hear your story! I want you to know our Heavenly Father is intricately wound up in every detail of our lives and most especially the moving process.

When I woke I was surrounded by laughter and joy. The lady beside me had dozed off as well so we eagerly greeted one another with expectant grins. As a young child I had always heard of Heaven but only received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was an adult. I understood that decision for Christ would take me to Heaven at death. I thought I understood what that would be like but my finite, fearful mind could never grasp it as it truly is; however, I knew right away this was the day I had wondered about for so long.

Immediately we were greeted by our attendants and escorted into a corridor amidst much applause and celebration. The excitement in the room was absolutely electrifying. As we began walking into the brilliant area ahead of us I realized we were moving to an outdoor portico where the celebration not only continued but intensified. I was captivated by how vivid the colors were. Oh, I could never adequately describe to you how blue the sky, rich the fields of waving flowers or lush the green grass was that day. I assure you it hasn’t lost its luster over the years - it is just as awe-inspiring now as it ever was. My soul is always warmed by the beauty here.

As the way widened through the portico I heard the wonderful sounds of reunion. Laughter and hugs abounded. My attendant led me to a smaller, but no less beautiful, garden off to one side of the portico and I suddenly realized this was a personal as well as corporate “welcome home” celebration and my spirit leapt with joy! I don’t dare ruin the surprise for you but, oh my goodness, it is so much more than you could ever imagine!

Since that day it has been one glorious time after another. It would take you countless hours to read the things I have seen and done and the joy from those I’ve met. I just wanted you to know this place is all we have been promised and so much more. So, press on today, wherever you are, for moving time is coming and it is absolutely worth your patience, trust and tears!
