The Painting

A while back God painted me a picture of the 23rd Psalm. When the enemy would like to load my mind with fear and worry I go back and remember the painting. I guess you could say I participate in the painting.

I enjoy the green pastures and take refreshing from the still waters. As the path I walk moves from joy and beauty to darkness and hard climbs I see Him right beside me. When it's time to take nourishment He pulls out all the stops. Instead of eating an apple and energy snacks He spreads a banquet table full of everything I need to sustain me. While I feast on His goodness He commands the enemy to stay in the shadows. All Satan and his minions can do is watch as my Father fills my cup over and over and refreshes my mind with His word and His Spirit.

When my strength has returned and it is time to move on those strong companions, Goodness and Mercy, come in behind me. They follow me closely making sure I will not be overcome at any time.

My participation in this painting always ends as I top the hill, shrouded with cliffs and rocks, into the warmth of His presence and light. I am surrounded by my powerful companions and all the arsenal needed to fight the battles that my next journey will hold.

Having said that I want to put below the impression of my 23rd Psalm from this morning.

Anita's 23rd Psalm:

The Lord is my Shepherd. I will not lack any good thing.

He provides rest for my weary, troubled mind and peace and strength for the journey I must face.

The paths that I will travel are tweaked, plotted and perfected by Him and give me the opportunity to remain in right-standing with Him at all times.

He is my restorer and even though, at times, I must walk through deep, dark valleys He is always with me.

Even in those places filled with the enemy's presence my Shepherd feeds me from His bountiful table of provision. His provisions of peace of mind, a restful spirit and strength to move forward are ever available to me.

He gives me His Spirit daily and fills my joy to overflowing.

As I move forward Goodness and Mercy are my constant companions and protectors and I will forever - both now and in eternity - dwell in the presence of the Lord.

HE IS MY KEEPER!

Read Psalm 23 for yourself. Come to God. Rest in Him, walk with Him and allow Him to become your Keeper as well.
